I wouldn’t say I LOVED it, lol. But I was definitely engrossed and gripped by the story. I had to start writing notes as I read because I just had to get out my thoughts. A book that’s easy to binge, pacing is not too slow. I didn’t guess the ending, which I liked. The main character was not likeable, and I was so annoyed at the way she took so long to investigate things when she could have sat down and done all of it in one go and saved herself so much time and stress. Just generally bad characters all around honestly.
The writing is not the best and the plot requires MASSIVE amounts of suspended disbelief.
Sure, just fake a coma even though you’ve got multiple medical professionals around you 24/7! That doesn’t seem impossible at allllll!

Overall not the WORST way to spend an afternoon, but certainly not the best either.

Amazing! Don't read at night. Don't normally read thrillers but this is so good!

A book has never stayed on my mind as much as Verity. I’ve loved every other book I’ve read by Colleen Hoover, but this is just a completely different genre, and she did amazing. She created a story that makes you think you know it all, and then makes you question everything. I couldn’t put it down, I read it in one sitting. The way that it gives you a little bit of information then switches point of views just makes you HAVE to keep reading because you are dying to know what happens and how it finishes.
The more I think back, the more I doubt both the manuscript and the letter, and that’s what I love about this book. The autobiography was sickening, and I can’t imagine ever writing about your own children like that, author or not. There are things that point to both being true. Hopefully in September when the new edition is released, we will get some closure. Every character had something… off. Jeremy’s story didn’t add up, verity’s went don’t know is true, and the way lowen became obsessive with jeremy was in the same sense as “fictional” verity.
