This is a huge jump from the first two in terms of character complexity + story ... i really felt like i was there with them in Hell <3 And genuinely felt emotional with the student mentorship scene...first wendy is still my favourite due to the montreal-of-it-all but this one is a close second

4 stars:
Super unusual and I loved it. Great length of story. Decent character development (for a graphic novel). Wendy is weird but super relatable to any 18-24 y/o.

There is no right or wrong choice. But you’ll always have a choice, and that’s a very comforting idea.

On the 2021 Canada reads longlist. I doubt it's going to make it to the shortlist - it's pretty graphic and not very PG but the artist does a great job portraying the struggles of being in grad school and all the angst around figuring out what you want to do with your life, finding love and maintaining friendships. Bonus: I totally figured out the fictional "Hell town" was Guelph and Wendy was taking her MFA at UofG! Guelph alums will enjoy those aspects. I'm glad it came up on my radar. I'd read more by Walter K. Scott.

Very funny to read as I have also just finished my master’s program. This girl continues to be a wreck but I loved seeing legitimate bits of growth stuck in here. Her friendship with Winona is also my everything. :’)
