I was delighted for this to be the first finished book of 2025, on the cusp of Trump's second inauguration. Bill Clinton's sins are widely documented but in recent years his specific genius has been discounted at points that may have won his party's candidates (including his wife) the election. This book follows a more raw, angry and yet cuttingly sharp Clinton as he walks through recent history with his special lens and analysis. I could have read another 100 pages of his thoughts on current political divides in America, and appreciated the little vignettes along the way which taught me about organisations I had not heard about. Overall, a worthy book to read even if you caveat for his biases and imperfections (which frankly, everyone has).
