I read this with the same energy as I read the last Harry Potter in fourth grade. No time for anything else. I can’t believe how much I enjoyed it!!!! Bye TOG

I’m of two minds about this book. The first 75% felt like an utter slog. It was just too battle heavy and I felt like even the introspective character moments were repetitive. I feel like 200 pages could be easily cut from this book with little to no impact on the overall experience (mostly battle scenes). If this hadn’t been the end of the series and I wasn’t so very stubborn, I would have DNF’d. But the last 25% was fantastic. I pretty much cried for hours as I was reading. I’m so glad I stuck it out and finished the book. It was very satisfying.
This was one of the most captivating series I’ve ever read, and this final book - I’ll simply never recover. 1000000000/10.

Maybe I'm evil.. but more deaths needed
I just really felt like more people needed to die to understand the gravity of their situation.

My overall rating, of the book and series, is closer to 3.99.
I love how the series progressed. The plot, character development, and writing kept getting more exciting and interesting. I love how Aelin led by example and let her friends have their moments throughout the series—Lysandra/Arobynn, Yrene/Erawan, and Fenris/Maeve.
It’s not quite perfect for me because of some of the missing/forgotten storylines and characters—Mort, Nox, the little folk, Aelin being able to open portals but not using that ability when it was needed the most…I think some of the characters and stories could have been cut in order to add depth and clarity to the primary and secondary characters.
I will always LOVE Manon, The Thirteen, Dorian, and Lord Lorchan Lochan!
