Wish I would’ve known this was book 32 in the series before diving in. 😅 Probably would’ve been great if I’d read the books that came before it. Seems like there were a lot of characters who I should have already known, and a lot of backstory and lore that I could have already been exposed to.
I inhaled this!
This is definitely up there with Harmony’s Way and Dawn’s Awakening as my favorite of the Breeds series.
Holy hell, that was spicy yet also suprisingly sweet and incredibly touching (considering the MMC’s name is Dog).
I’ve always been a sucker for the dominant female stories and this was truly Cassie’s moment to step into the spotlight and be the badass we all knew she was hiding. Yes, girl, have your moment! I really hope we see more of her in future books, she’s just too damn awesome to leave out.
Gods. I didn’t want this to end - great read!

i almost wanted to not like this book, but I couldn't find anything wrong with Dog/Cain. I'm am finally glad that LL brought to light Cassie's Angel since she was a little girl. I thought the author did an excellent job giving the reader more information to this series. Now I'm looking for the next book.
This story was a long time coming! As a dedicated reader of Lora Leigh's Breeds series, I've been waiting for Cassie's story for quite some time. If you're familiar with the series, we met Cassie when she was a young girl and she orchestrated the relationship between her mother Elizabeth in the third book of the Breed series, Elizabeth's Wolf. Since then we've seen her grow up throughout the other novels to eventually become a force in defending Breed Law. Ms. Leigh teased her pairing in Dawn's Awakening when she thought she was going to die and could 'feel' the assassin that was on the island. He later broke into her hospital room to make sure she was all right.
But it's been something like twelve or thirteen books since that happened and even with all of the foreshadowing, I was completely surprise to find out who he was. At the same time I was smacking myself that I didn't figure it out. Dog is a coyote shifter who all believe is aligned with the Genetics Council, so when it is revealed that Cassie is his mate, she goes from being fiercely protected to quickly shunned from Breed society. Now, Cassie has to decide if she can trust Dog or if he's going to betray her to the Council. After all, the reward for her capture is the highest the Genetics Council has ever set.
I loved the dynamics between these two characters. They are both so smart but really bad at dealing with their own emotional states. He tends to shut things away and she ignores her own needs to help others. This time they must deal with everything that's right in front of them while navigating their biology, Breed Law, and the Genetic Councils interference. The conclusion reveals the secret behind Cassie's guardian fairy, forces Dog to make some drastic choices and reveals more about the mystery behind Breed genetics. Couldn't stop reading!

Yes, the book everyone's been waiting for! Cassie and Dog. I could still remember I was still in college when I read the first book randomly it was kind of wierd to read haha. Anyway, now I'm waiting for her sister's story but it'll take a few years for sure. I know it'll be her friend and Lobo's book first. Please continue the breed series Lora.
