I don't know if these books just found me at the right time or if they're genuinely brilliant but Iove the stories so far and can't wait to dive into the next one. I thought the young protagonists would put me off, but they surprisingly don't. The kind of fantasy that makes you feel things and reflect on life and love and faith and friendship. Just overall really great.

Slow start, the story didn't really get going until about half way in. But then it was good, just had to push through.

Took longer to get through this one than the first. Lots of poetry and beautiful prose in this. My daughter and I both liked it well enough. We will probably look for the third in the series.

I enjoyed this book but it's not as good as the first. This probably has something to do with my dislike of nautical stories. Not that this is a nautical story, really, but perhaps the taking place in the ocean has something to do with it.

Beautiful addition to the series. In this outing, Nita and Kit help the whale wizards reenact the defeat of the lone power. In essence, the book is about a whale passion play. Deeply moving.

WHALES! ocean song! mysteries of the deep! imminent danger & wary obligation & heartfelt promises... the type of book I want to hug close to my chest
