This is easily one of the grossest books I have ever read. If animal abuse is not your thing, skip this one. I will say the writing was great and use of ”evidence” (articles/interviews/journal entires etc.) throughout really helped break up some of the tense moments well.

This book was really like watching a train wreck; I kept saying, “YUCK!” in my head but managed to finish it in a day.

This book is one that will definitely be hard to put down. Me finishing a book in just over 4 days is very rare. With that being said, this book can get very disturbing. CW for murder and a very graphic depiction of animal abuse.

 The characters all had very well-defined personalities, bringing a uniqueness to each of them. I'm definitely interested in trying some of these authors' other books to see if they're just as good.

Maybe the scariest book I've ever read, almost certainly the most disturbing. The first book to give me a nightmare. What a gross, great read. Not for the faint of heart.

A truly disgusting read. I would have finished this sooner, but I kept getting itchy reading it. Fantastically written, but a tough read if

you're bothered by parasites/bugs.

Wasn’t what I wanted. I was expecting horror, not detailed descriptions of sadism (from the sociopath’s point of view). Turned my stomach.

Lots of body horror if that's a trigger for the reader. It was "gross" but not worse than muc other. Good story/ plot. Well read (audiobook) and written.  


The only thing I didn't like was the description of killing the turtle.  :(
