This wasn't the best Agatha Christie novel I have read. While I loved the characters, especially Lucy, I also feel like the ending of the story was written poorly. I am normally okay with having an unlikely character as the murderer, but this one didn't feel okay.

This story is an absolute masterpiece. I was addicted to the story from the beginning. All the characters were great and were developed well. The ending was shocking and so well done. This might even be my favourite Agatha Christie story I have read so far!

I liked the mix of characters in this story. It was also nice to see Miss Marple doing some proper detective work herself and then picking a partner to help her with the stuff little old ladies couldn't do. I enjoy it more when she's involved rather than "consulted". I will say I didn't suspect the eventual culprit at all right until the reveal (which all happened in the final chapter) while part of me was left a little irritated by the one unanswered question at the end (done on purpose).

Well that kept me guessing!!!
Continuing on my quest to read all the Agatha Christie books, I read this after I was gifted a 1957 edition for Christmas. Loved it. The plot creeps along deliciously, with clues and red herrings liberally handed out. A cast of suspicious characters and a smattering of characters with impeccable credentials. The best part of any AC story is trying to decide who the murderer is. I never pick the right one!
A master storyteller, as usual. I very much enjoyed this Miss Marple instalment.
