Glad I pushed through I’m on this one… sometimes a bit repetitive but ultimately great!

emotional funny hopeful lighthearted medium-paced

My feelings about this book are in no way objective, all vibes. First of all I have to address the fact that Mike Fisher was still playing for the Ottawa Senators when he married Carrie Underwood and he played for Nashville later, because it's one of the most notable things that had happened in Ottawa in the 21st century. Secondly, I loved all these characters so much but my favourite was the rookie Brody adopted. Literally laughed out loud more than once. And the actual romance bits were so tender even when people were having bad decisions. A lovely little read.

Hockey player & country music star - MM romance

It was never meant to be more than a one night stand but when a video of them goes viral, their managers think a fake relationship is best to contain the situation. Brody only has hockey on the brain, he certainly doesn’t have time for a relationship and he’s sticking to it. Seamus knew it was only a hookup but never expected to be ghosted so of course he’s not a big fan of Brody. He tells himself he’s only pretending until he no longer has to. When they get closer as time goes on, will they be able to make a real relationship work?

Cute m/m romance! I felt like it dragged on for a bit and I didn’t like the miscommunication trope but I’m happy they figured things out in their own way. I liked seeing how they handled being outed to the world - amazingly well I must say. Loved Brody’s cat Kiwi.

“But he looks at his phone sometimes and gets this super-soft expression on his face, and like, yeah, sometimes we’re on the road and it’s his pet-sitter texting him a picture of his cat, but also, sometimes I think it’s you.”

I’m actually so surprised by the reviews I’ve seen for this book, because personally I absolutely loved it!! I love this author’s writing style and the slowburn of her romances. the characters were all great and loveable and the story kept me interested. there’s definitely a lot of miscommunication but in this book it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I just find her writing style to be so detailed and some parts are possibly overwritten but I like that about it? It won’t work for everyone, but after reading both books in this series I can for sure say that I’m a big fan of these books.
