I maintain that book one and two should’ve just been one book, but they’re both excellent nonetheless. This is a fantastic start to a series (I consider it the start, because even though it’s book two, it may as well be book one continued). I love the world building and magic system. Definitely worth reading.

2.5 stars.

I was quite disappointed with the sequel.

It was very repetitive - Haven does something rash, Haven nearly dies, Archeron is mad but forgives her.

I've put the 3rd book on TBR shelf which I may come back too when it's out.

Finally curse broken!

Wow, it was an adventurous ride with grief, pain and loss. I forgot the events that happened since I read last but reading them again, breaks my heart open! King Maker was my favourite book so I'm devour it!
adventurous fast-paced

Ebook provided by the author in exchange of an honest review.

We left Haven, Archeron and Stolas in Oathtaker, the first fighting for her life (at the beginning of cursebreaker she is almost dead by a Vorgrath attack), the second wondering about Haven’s whereabouts and the last one contemplating the void. Rook is still dying and Surai is staying by her side and Bjorn is still seeing things. I would say we started good! We finally see Archeron worried over Haven, we have a glimpse of his emotions and we learn that solis have to keep back their deepest anger, so they do not destruct everything.
Haven trains with Stolas in her dreams (they made a pact in the first book, which included her being trained).

I can’t say a lot without spoiler, but let me tell you that this is a perfect sequel, it was even better: more adventure, more romance (yay!), more everything. Few things that were left unsolved in the first book finally got answered.

I loved this book, I wish I had the sequel right now!

Final vote: 5/5

Quote: stop longing to be less, Haven, and accept that you are more. Stop apologizing for the fire inside you. Instead, burn and burn like the sun until you set the world ablaze.

This book was so fast-paced and exciting, I kept saying “one more chapter” only to continue reading for another hour. I absolutely love these characters. Audrey managed to both rip my heart out of my chest and heal my wounds. I cannot WAIT for what is next, which I am hoping includes MORE STOLAS! I still have so many questions!

Can't stand the characters--connections and interactions are flat and forced

I am odd, I wanted more of my soul to die with the people who died. But still good. Very interested in where else this series will lead.
