The stories in this collection are more creepy and chilling than scary. Junji Ito's illustrations made reading them even more fun. Here are some that stood out to me:

Face - A woman has a tumor that looks like a face

Library - A weird little girl runs into the library and then disappears

Snow Day - A young woman encounters a strange woman walking barefoot when it's a cold and snowy day.

Summer Graduation Trip - A bonus short story that appears in the back of the book in manga format. It's about two friends who go on a trip to celebrate graduating, and have a strange experience when they enter the bath at the hotel they're staying at.

I'm glad I checked out this book and I will definitely reread it in the future :)

2.5 stars —

unfortunately, junji itos bonus manga was much more better than all the stitches of this book.

wished all the stories were much more developed. they have very interesting ideas…but they would only be dropped and then abandoned. it leaves me on the high :( the only chapter that really made me feel something was snow day.

This is the kinda stuff I'd would've maybe loved as a young 9 year old Goosebumps-addicted horror child, but a lot of this falls flat. Goosebumps was scarier, not sure I'd recommend this even if you like Junji Ito's illustrations
