It does have spicy dialogue/scenes but that’s not the main story device so I appreciate the balance. The main romances are slow-ish burn (one in particular…c’mon Roxy!), but it’s worth it and the enemies-to-lovers really works.

So, is this book (and I guess series) a highly philosophical read? NO, but is it entertaining? YES. Keep in mind all triggers, and enjoy the ride!
(3.25 stars just because I feel like "I've seen this theme before". But I guess because, in some way or other, I did by reading a lot of fantasy- and bully-themed romances)

I can suspend my beliefs for a great number for fictional plot lines.
What I can't get passed is the girls being abused almost daily and still being physically attracted to their abusers!!
The violence again the main female characters in this series is both concerning and abhorrent. It concerns me that there are younger women being disillusioned by this book into being attracted to abusive characters because 'theyre just so hot'. Very difficult to get through because the bullying is so severe.
Sure, use fairy dust to travel dimensions, that's no problem with me, but can we have a little dignity for the main characters?? Hard to believe it took 2 authors to put this piece of work together.....
Spoiler Alert: there's literally a c-plot concerning murder and in the A-plot they are worried about a fucking school dance, I'm not making this up.
I think this series yanked me out of my adult 'romance' novel phase.... Like even Fifty Shades was more fleshed out😶🌫️
I HATED a crown of thorns and roses and it was still better than this.

I wanted a crazy-ass read and that’s exactly what this was. Half the time I was going like “huh?” And the other time I was going like “fuck.”
For anyone who is curious about this book and is like I want to pick it up! Literally go into this with NO expectations. Everything is crazily unhinged and WILD.
The writing style, world building, and characters are quite something! 😀
There was this one scene where one of the Twins was being asked about her ethnicity and she goes, “Our Latina looks had served us more than one occasion like this.”
I fr had to pause and ask myself, “FR?”
I swear they seem like twins that would identify as “spicy Latinas” and to that I say:
“Mi gente Latino ✊” (ikyk).
I don’t trust a single character in this series.
Not Orion and ESPECIALLY none of the heir boys. They’re spoiled brats that need to be kicked down SEVERAL notches.
Also wtf is up with the lack of consent? These girls were not only being bullied BUT experiencing different forms of SA & Sexual Harassment.
I swear to god, I had the urge to call the authorities over the lack of consent. Like grown ass professors TOO were assaulting people. And everyone just acted like it was normal, like HELLO???
I will continue reading since I truly am a chismosa at heart.

It’s crack for your brain and I’m going to keep reading despite the rapey overtones and god awful middle school level writing…so who’s the real fool huh?
