A good start to the book with both characters like fire and ice against each other. Enemies is a definite theme for the beginning of this unfortunately the scout members coop the displays.
I had to feel sorry for their boys with their dads being and acting like two year olds.
Both have a point Ross being an drill Sargent and Cal need organisation and a plan for them working together.
Scenes in this where over the top in playing out for the book. This book wasn't for me and it's a story you either loved it or hated it.

Cal and 11 year son Josh where joining the scouts wether Cal liked it our not. Unfortunately Cal didn't like the scout leader since they'd run into each other in the past.

The book was sweet and cozy, which is exactly what I was in the mood for. My main issues were that Russ seemed to have changed his personality after a few chapters for plot convenience, the two fell in love too quickly out of nowhere, and there was a little too much steam for my liking. Still, I really enjoyed the vibes of this book

Cute story

I was in desperate need of something light and easy after a long reading slump. This was a lot different to the dense fantasy I usually read but was a great palate cleanser. I finished it in a day and it was great fun. It was humourous, real, and delightfully trope-y. I could just turn my brain off and read. It has definitely inspired me to branch out more and have more fun with reading.

Ah, Cal and Russ were just adorable! I really loved this book. It's cute, hilarious, and totally steamy.

I really loved how the book included body diversity. Most romance novels make it seem like hitting the gym is everyone's favorite pastime, but it's so refreshing to see characters I can actually relate to (also, who doesn't love a bear?).

The pacing was perfect, not rushed like some romances can be. And those side characters? Absolutely awesome, they added so much to the story!

Seriously, I need more of Cal and Vance in my life... pretty please, with sprinkles on top!

Not gonna lie, I started it because the cover looked cute on Storytel (not the cover that is shown here). It seemed like just a sweet romance story. I didn't expect the smut to be in it. It was still a sweet story and I could still enjoy it.

I fell in love with this book! It was hilarious, sweet, angsty and all things in between. The storyline is quite straightforward, two single dads who couldn't be more different. You could say that they have that enemies-to-lovers vibe because they may hate each other but they are also very attracted to each other. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

Russ is in the words of Cal, a stuck-up, anal (not in the fun way) scout leader that is #DadGoals and when the scout trope he leads needs a new co-leader, Cal volunteers out of spite.

But the longer they work together, the more they realize that the other person is not as bad as they thought and that they have more income than they first thought.
Both may have sworn off romance to focus on their kids but que a too-small tent, smores and skinny dipping to change the trajectory of their relationship forever. β›ΊοΈπŸ’¦πŸͺ

The book is filled with snarky banter, tent puns and spice to fill an evening in front of the fire. You will laugh and you will cry and you will swoon. πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

This is the first book in the Single Dads Club and also the first book from A.J. Truman I have read. And I just know that I will fill my TBR with more books from him.
