I did like this story but why would Cal adopt a kid if he wasn’t in a financial position to spend time with him? I do get that he wanted a family but that seems a little irresponsible answer immature for me

Not gonna lie, I started it because the cover looked cute on Storytel (not the cover that is shown here). It seemed like just a sweet romance story. I didn't expect the smut to be in it. It was still a sweet story and I could still enjoy it.

The Falcon and the Foe is the perfect blend of cozy and steamy, delivering an MM romance full of warmth, humor, and undeniable chemistry. Ross and Cal, two single dads with a rivalry, find themselves in an unexpected slow-burn attraction that explodes into something neither of them can deny. Their dynamic is both tender and playful, making their journey from foes to lovers all the more satisfying.
The romance is packed with tension and heat, but the true highlight? The camping trip with the classic single-bed trope. The forced proximity, the unresolved feelings, and the inevitable moment when everything snaps into place—it’s perfection. Their love story is just as much about emotional connection as it is about physical desire, making the steam feel all the more meaningful.
This book is pure comfort—low angst, high spice, and full of swoon-worthy moments. If you love MM romance with great chemistry and a cozy smut fest vibe, this one’s a must-read.

When I started it, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. I didn't like Russ at the beginning. But, as Cal warmed up to him, so did I. This story was very sweet and I got so into the story that I listened until 2 in the morning the night I started it. It's funny and lighthearted with some emotions mixed in as well. I especially loved the family dynamic they ended up having with their kids.
I was so close to giving this 5 stars, so maybe it’s closer to 4.5 stars. AJ Truman is quickly becoming one of my comfort read authors. This book was so cute! I loved Cal and Russ, and their sons were even more adorable. And being a fan of camping myself, I loved the nostalgia it brought on for what it’s like to spend a weekend in the woods. Excited for the next book in this series!
