This was so good!! I don't know why I've waited so long to start this series, but I know I will now devour the rest of the series in no time.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed the paranormal part of the story. The problem is that I didn't really like the main character. And there wasn't anything wrong with her really.. I just didn't like her much. She was kind of boring. In fact all the characters were boring. I had no interest in their lives. So little interest that I don't even know if I will read the second book..

After reading some stellar books this year this one really falls flat for me. Romance was too sudden and shallow. Eh.
Fallen angels, magical tattoos, soulmates; a little bit of everything! I can always appreciate an author who isn't afraid to kill off a main character where it's appropriate to the story. I also love that she withholds major plot points. The build of the story was slow, but not so much that I lost interest.

This book had everything. Great world building, a headstrong heroine, an intense male, and an epic love story! The writing is phenomenal and I loved the characters. Malachi was such a great hero...like what!!??? Can I have him!
Ava was amazing too! I loved how snarky she was. She was insanely strong and took the whole, "you're an Irina" in stride! She's a great female!
Oh man...and the love between Malachi and Ava was amazing! There was no insta-love which I LOVED! And they were beyond perfect for each other! They became better people together.
This book moved at such a great pace and had me hooked from the first word. I loved this book and that ending was just CRUEL!!! On to the next one! :)

decently put together with intriguing storyline and characters, but a little cheesy on the romance. also i really do prefer to see my heroines walking around with brains of their own. while this chick did manage to show off a saucy mouth when inebriated and was apparently very well educated - we dont get to see her utilize this education at all. there were a lot of missed opportunities there.
