I love this series but I think the first book will always hold a special place in my heart, and this one didn't feel as strong, still great tho. I love screaming and talking outloud to the characters and just genuinely being completely unhinged while I read and these characters make that very easy. the one critique I have is that I would have preferred one main story as opposed to two. both of the main plots, the past case involving the fire and the search for Wendy's rapist, are interesting in their own right and I appreciate both stories but it makes me question if the book had picked one or the other and focused on it if it would have been as strong. I don't know if that makes sense. I guess in the first book I liked that it all revolved around the one case, and with this one when we would be talking about the fire case I would be saying "okay but what about wendy tho?" and vice versa. also I definitely could have missed it bc I read this in one sitting in a few hours but
who the hell torched Ellie's truck?
