This was my first book by this author, and it won't be my last. This was a short story set in Miami and Cuba, and it's told from 2 different timelines. The present timeline is from 1969 where Natalie is throwing a work event which in turn makes her reminisce about a time from her past when she was 18 and her family took a vacation in Cuba where she met a boy which was 30 years prior. I really enjoyed this short story. It was well written, and I thought the romance was cute despite it being very instalovey and predictable. I wish this was a full story though because I would've loved to have more of the story after Natalie and Antonio reconnected.

This was a fun, short story in two timelines about the Tropicana nightclub in Havana, Cuba.
It was a lovely story!

A cute romantic short story that I didn't want to put down! I've only read 1 other Chanel Cleeton novel and this one made me want to finish reading her others!
Thanks Net Galley for the e-ARC!

Read this as an Amazon first reads, and though it was quick, it just felt cliche and not plausible. Maybe it was too rushed as a short story, but my favorite part was knowing it would be ending soon. Fine quick read but nothing special.

A Night at the Tropicana: A Short Story by Chanel Cleeton is a beautiful story of love lost to fulfill family expectations that leaves a mark on those who feel it. Family expectations and ambition get in the way of a love that feels magical in its beginning but gets sidelined by a parent's interference before it even has a chance to really begin. Years later a recreation of the event at a different place brings back the memories of that first taste of love. The romance of the evening paired with the romance of young love juxtaposed against a fundraiser capitalizing on the idea of that evening felt apropos to the world we live in yet the nostalgia threading through the memories also managed to impart an unexpected hopefulness. A Night at the Tropicana pulled me in and had me hoping for a magical ending...
