This book will make you feel all the emotions. I didn’t think I’d like it but I was wrong it was great.

This is such a beautifully written book, I don’t even know what to say. Ove and Parvenah and Jimmy and Adrian and ALL of them pulled at my heartstrings throughout this entire thing. The last couple chapters perfectly wrapped it up and the symbolism/underlying message is so incredible. Really, really recommend. An immaculate tale of humanity, family, grief, and what it really means to love. ❤️

Loved 😭 predictable but so heartfelt. Cried throughout the book, and felt so sad to be done upon finishing!

I will say there are some racist and fat phobic comments made from the POV of the main character (I think to show us where his flaws were) but they 1) never felt necessary (was able to grasp character flaws without them) and 2)took me out of the book a bit, hence the deduction from 5 stars.

I absolutely adored this book. You just can't help but fall in love with Ove and his neighbours. The writing style is stunning, the plot is slow but in a good way, it's sweet and funny and just wonderful. Best book I've read in ages. My 2024 reading list is off to a great start.
