Ove is your typical curmudgeon but that doesn't stop the new neighbor parvaneh from doing everything she can to befriend him. Ove grows so much as a person throughout the story and even though he just wants to be left alone to die to be reunited with his wife he is still so helpful to his neighbors. Ove is kind but not nice.

Ove grew on me slower than the author intended to but by the end i guess he's okay…

This is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Truly amazing. One of my new favorites.

I went in blind, didn’t know what it was about. That being said, the blurb doesn’t really do it justice with the trigger warning of suicide. That is a HEAVY theme in this book and it hit me on such a personal level that I had to stop at times and read something else to get my mind off of it. But the story itself is good.
