Oh thank goodness Erika Foster is back! After a rough cobbling of a book in #5, Foster is back on the hunt for a masked man who has killed a woman on her own doorstep. At the same time, she is dealing with the return of Peterson. I somewhat guessed (correctly) at Mr. Bryndza's twist this time but it did not dull my appreciation for the well thought out puzzle presented. I also liked that Foster spent some time getting herself put back together emotionally. This time, the absence didn't seem to take away from the story, it just left another member of Foster's team open to shine. In addition, Mr. Bryndza included a nice little extra twist in the story that added to the depth of the story. I see bad things for criminals and good things for Foster in the next book!

Ik denk dat ik dit de beste Erika Foster vind (tot nu toe). Lekker vlot geschreven en spannend tot het einde.
It’s my third book from the author's.
In the course of the story I still thought it was too predictable but managed to amaze.
Again, it is a book with a very fluid reading. I like the story that goes through the books of the characters they're getting. Anyone can read up any book in the saga and realize the story in it but it is also very funny recognize the story that is being followed between books, between characters.

Book 6 in the DI Erika Foster series and yet again this author has written an absolute corker of a book. From the very first page I was engrossed in the story and didn’t want to leave the book down. A fantastic crime thriller that will have you guessing right up to the last chapter. Massive 5 star read from me.
A decent enough police procedural with some graphic content. As a detective and character, Erika Foster is cold and remote but gets results. What made me mark this down from a 4 star was the ending which seemed to come from nowhere although, there is a mention of Austria at the start of the novel, which sort of gave a hint.
Set at Christmas, with plenty of snow, the author gives a sense of time and place to the book. A quick read with plenty of short chapters, there was always something happening to keep the interest up.

I am happy to announce that I've officially caught up with this book series.
This book, like the others, was incredibly fast paced and it kept me guessing until the very end. My mouth hit the floor with the big reveal. I couldn't believe it.
Now I am sad that I have to wait until the new one comes out.

This is the 2nd Erika Foster novel I’ve read and it is a captivating read. Even though it’s the 6th book in a series, I think it can stand alone as well. A young woman with a questionable background is murdered on Christmas Day and Det. Foster is left to investigate interesting suspects and witnesses to find the truth.
