Robert Bryndza

4.1 AVERAGE

Robert Bryndza has written another gripping tale featuring Erika Foster. In this installment, Erika is due to go to Marsh's house for Christmas lunch, but she doesn't want to go. On her way there, she stumbles on a crime scene, and inserts herself into the investigation. A young woman has been found brutally murdered on her front lawn and is frozen in her own blood.
The investigation takes a twist when the investigative team ties the crime to a series of assaults and rapes on people from a person wearing a gas mask.
Also during the novel, Erika and Peterson face their relationship challenges, when Peterson reveals a secret to Erika. Moss is forced to take over the investigation, and is put in grave danger when Erika is called away to care for her father-in-law.
When they think they have the case tied up, Erika notices a chilling discrepancy and they turn their sights in a different direction.
I wasn't thrilled with the ending, because it seemed to come out of nowhere, but I still enjoyed the book.

Continuo a adorar a Erika!

Good sequel. Suspenseful murder mystery. Will continue with series.

I really loved meeting back up with Detective Erika Foster. She is one of my all time favorites in this genre. I liked how we got a deeper look into her personal life, as well as her having to step away from a case. There were a few things I wasn't fond of though.
Spoiler Peterson not having the balls to tell Erika about his son and new girl. Also the fact that he just bought that girl's story without any anger, kind of pisses me off. Sure be there for the kid, and be involved. But get a damn paternity test and show some spine for someone who ran off with your kid.

I also didn't like the ending. There were truths that were spoken and twisted. I grant you those people exist in the real world, but given the impact things like that have on my family history it was very hard to read through it. Overall 4 out of 5 stars.

I have loved every single one of the Erika Foster series and this was no exception. The story begins on a cold morning when a mother wakes to a nightmare situation and find her daughter's blood-soaked body frozen to the road. As always, Erika single-mindedly sets to work. Little does she know that in investigating this terrible crime, she will be forced to face memories from her own past.

“Perhaps he did kill her. It just goes to show, you don’t really know the people who you share your life with.”

To commit the perfect murder, you need the perfect cover. Book 6 in the Erika Foster series and it didn’t disappoint. One cold morning a mother wakes up to find her daughter dead on her door step.

Erika moves from her last case straight into this investigation to reclaim her title and to prove to herself that she’s still got it. As she begins her investigation she uncovers a string of assaults that fit the same description. The one thing linking them together was each victim was attacked by a man wearing a gas mask.

As the case unfolds Erika uncover a web of lies surrounding the death of the beautiful young woman. Erika begins to piece together clues surrounding the case she’s forced to confront painful memories from her past. She lands herself in hot water when she realises who the murderer really is! This book has you holding your breath right until the end.

One of the reasons I love Bryndza's writing so much is because he never gives anything away until the bad guys gets caught. This is still my favorite Murder mystery series. I’ve grown quite attached to Erika Foster and the strong independent crime stopping woman she is!

That ending was...unexpected, but not really in a good way. It was pretty absurd. But I do like the series and I'll keep reading them

I liked this - 3.5*

I enjoyed this and the idea of Deadly Secrets was really interesting when it all summed up at the end BUT it was a little long winded - even thought the book is only 300 pages. I also don't like what Bryndza's done with the relationships at all. My ship has crashed and burned. Peterson, really? It doesn't sound suspicious after all these years... Please. Then, the Moss thing. Really? Honestly, I can't see it. I CANNOT see it.

Glad there's a little break and the next book hasn't been released because this was a little far fetched. The Deadly Secrets were good though.
