This was hyped up so much and I just don't think it got there completely. Characters were being petty and annoying the entire time. But the action and drama and politics were super good but romance was not.

This was just a no for me. I wanted to like it so bad after really enjoying Fourth Wing and it did not live up at all.
1. About 200 pages too long. The first half or so of the book barely anything happens
2. I disengaged from their love story because it got super cringe. Why are they constantly making out and showing excessive pda in front of crowds of people every time they dramatically reunite. I was literally dying laughing each time imagining it.
3. The dialogue. Didn’t realize how not good it was until I switched to the audiobook, which thank god I did. It saved me from DNFing this.

All that said I’ll probably continue the series because I need to know what happens after the cliff hanger ending lol but I should probably just google spoilers.
