The Magnus Archives has solidified itself as my favorite podcast, ever. It’s so good!!! It’s so fucking good!!! The voice acting and sound effects was top-notch, and the stories are so creepy and scary and masterfully written (seriously, the storytelling is of such quality I’m left flabbergasted whenever I start to think about it). Also, the way Sims weaves the metaplot is done in such an amazing way that !!!!! This podcast is more than half the reason I’m such a horror fan now.

More than that, I care so much for those characters. So much!!! My poor Jon, Martin, Tim!!! Their character development was amazing, and as much as it pains me to see them suffer, it’s great to see characters actually have to deal with the fallout of traumatic events that happened to them. It’s an amazing and rare thing when a show manages to be both Good in terms of plot and writing while also making me super invested in their characters, but this is what happened here. I love them, your honor, I really do.

I’m both excited to listen to everything and loath to see this end. This story will certain live rent-free in my head and heart forever.

As expected, Jonathan Sims and the Rusty Quill crew delivered an absolutely stunning continuation to the season one story.

No one ever knows what they’re really seeing or hearing.
— MAG 74: Fatigue

Something about having an omniscient perspective as an outside listener really made the finale so much more engaging. We know what’s up, but the archivist doesn’t. Gorgeous, gorgeous tension.

I also am still holding out hope that at some point, especially with the final season currently in production, we will get books based on this series. I just still want to hold this story in my hands so bad!

On to more creepy and unsettling stories in the next season, I can’t wait for the nightmares they’ll cause.
