At the beginning I kinda got thought it fast, but towards the end I only finished just so I can get it down with and get to the next book. It's a good book I guess it kinda felt like it dragged on a little.

The story wasn't interesting for me , twisted love was better than this one . Smut was more than the first one , but the story was so boring for me , maybe I didn't connect with Them ... but in general that was a nice book

I loved this book. The chemistry, throne conflict and just the interactions were all *chef's kiss*

The plot revolved around Bridget and her new bodyguard, Rhys. He never gets personally involved in his clients' lives, but he feels drawn towards Bridget. Because, of course he does.

I very much liked that Bridget started out with a very childlike crush towards Rhys, instead of an instant lust. It made the romance seem more genuine and heartfelt.

The romance overall seems more genuine to me than other Ana Huang books. Probably because of the forbidden romance trope. Any romance where the two love interests aren't allowed to be together makes the love feel more important and less like they are doing it just for fun.

The story actually gave me Sarah J. Maas vibes, mainly because of the theme of royalty. Her books tend to have the ruler go for a 'lower class' love interest instead of a higher member of society. And this book runs with those qualities as well.

One thing that I did have a problem with are the spicy/smutty scenes. They claim to be equals, yet throughout the entire book, it is Rhys that is in control of the bedroom (and out of bedroom) scenes. I mean, it is alright if they are into that stuff, but it seems to be a common thing in Huang books. Maybe give them a bit of variety? It is usually hot, but it's getting way too repetitive at this point. I can definitely tell that Huang is into more BDSM type boning.

What else can I really say about the characters? Bri was classy AF. Girl, teach some of that attitude to the rest of us please. Rhys' description is just 🔥. I definitely prefer my poor background over the rich ones. And it is refreshing that the woman is the rich one in this case.

The writing was nice to read and the language was easy to understand (bonus points for no complicated words). The structure of these romance books remain the though. And that's kinda same.

Overall, I loved this book, it is getting slowly more boring with every contemporary romance that the same way. I am really excited to read Jules and Josh's. I feel like this is gonna be the most interesting one yet.
