It's been about a year since I have read Good Elf Gone Wrong and I loved that book. By no means do I deem either a "great" book but I like quirky, spicy romcom books so I liked them. This one is very much the same as the first though... to the point that I started to question scenes thinking that I have already read them before even though this one has only just come out a little over a week ago... Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me or they are truly just that similar.

Top Quotes:
“It was an accident, ... , She hit him in the face with a dildo. Of course he’s going to lie to you, Hudson. It’s fucking embarrassing.”
“If you want to stay with me, then buckle up, asshole. ...I have a pretty bad track record.”

Absolutely Hilarious!!

Wow wow wow. I just loved this holiday story. This was by far the funniest book I have ever read. If you need a pick-me-up, this is it! Anderson and Evie’s antics were so fun to read. Grandma Doyle should try her hand at stand up, she had the funniest dialogue. If you’re looking for more info: I’d say this is a loosely a classic enemies to lovers, it’s more like desperation to lovers. The majority of the story takes place at Evie’s parent’s house over the course of the holidays leading up to Christmas. You get to meet her whole family and they are WILD.

Another 5 Star Rating

This was hands down the single best rom com I have ever read!!! Although, I believe everything that I have read by Alina Jacobs has been amazing. She definitely knows how to paint a picture with words that make it so easy to see a picture perfect illustration like you’re actually there. Evie is the epitome of the forgotten, and less than perfect, daughter - always getting in over her head and being pushed to the side, trying to do as she’s told - until she doesn’t. Anderson is the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks - a blast from the past to be used for bait or blackmail- or is he? I read through this book so fast… over 500 pages in less than four hours! I absolutely ate this up and can’t wait to dive into more by Alina Jacobs!!!

Evie, adopted by a couple who had sons, wanted a girl, in steps Evie. Right after, the mom has triplet girls, leaving Evie the persona of 'the middle child'. Chastised her whole life, she lands a job where her boss takes advantage of Evie. At a holiday family gathering he shows up, but to Evies soul shattering reveal, he is there as her sister's fiance'. Not Evie's boyfriend. He proceeds to paint Evie in the worst light and he and her 'sister' see to it she is totally unemployable in NYC. She has to grovel and accept her parents handouts. She is given until Christmas day to gain employment or she is out, on her own, no family support. A true Cinderella tale, until she runs across a man who has broken into the family home. Turns out, the family has issues with him. As a reader, who is the black sheep of her family, I get Evie's struggle. There is hope for Evie as Anderson seems her only path to redemption. Even though he is the cause of the turmoil in Evie's adopted family, I HAD to read on to find the happy side of her life. A gripping page turner, this book hit a personal note for me.
medium-paced

I was sucked in by the cute cover - I do love a dude in motorcycle gear (I married one, even). Was not expecting a complete doormat of an FMC and butt sex. Oh well. It was entertaining enough to finish but I see why it's not traditionally published. I needed a palate cleanser from an extreme Stormlight Archive marathon and I definitely got that!

I thought overall the book was good, had a fun Christmas theme and some good laugh out loud moments - literally.

Idk what to think about this book. I loved Snowball, but the MMC was so fucking weird at times, like mean for real. I must say it was the first book I've read where they do anal before vaginal.

I'm not a fan of MMC calling the FMC a slut either, I think there are better options for dirty talk, but maybe that's just me.

Overall I enjoyed it, but it also left me feeling a bit icky.
