fortuno did not have a very good fortune

okay but actually this story’s really interesting, the repetitions overall added to the helplessness of fortuno’s fortune (heh) and poe is, as always, really amazing at building an atmosphere. love how montereso is just slandering fortuno for no actual reason, just vibes man. rip, where’s the wine tho

I read this when I was in high school, for a class. It was one of my first encounters with an unreliable narrator, and I don’t think I was prepared or equipped to contend with it. Maybe I should reread this.
