Audible Audiobook
I read this 2 yrs ago & loved it. I still think it’s pretty great, but I see more issues with it now. There’s alpha male & then there’s “please stop stalking me.” It doesn’t overpower the good parts, though. A little long, but still makes good use of space. Nice characters, pacing good, for the most part.

3.5 but I am feeling nice so rounded up.
Read the audio book of this and want to make a comment about the readers... Fantastic!! They were so good. I usually am perturbed by readers who can’t get the opposite sex voices down and both readers did a great job. The male did end like all sentences on the same odd tone, but overall I was so pleased.
The story? Nothing special. I didn’t buy Annie’s two lives. I didn’t feel like the plot really went anywhere. Nothing I really have wrong with the book, but not much amazing either. I think part of the problem is that there were no good supporting characters? Still pleasant and worth a read.
Update: 3 years later and I had the same reactions haha

This book grabbed me in fits and starts. Some parts worked and some parts were plain slow, frustrating, or felt out of left field.
hmm, I don't recommend it whatsoever, I had to skip a lot of parts, and I really felt sick for just reading, I didn't read 50 shades of grey, but I can say it's the same type.. I hadn't had any warning before reading it, so again DON'T READ IT if you have issues with 50 shades of grey.
I liked it despite the urge to throttle Annie on noumerous occasions. She was annoyingly trapped in her past and social phobia. Ronan was so sweet to her all the time.
Thanks Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review.
I loved this book. Made me want to meet a hooker too. :) Ok, I had to say that. I wasn't paid to but it had to be said. This book made me laugh, made me smile, and just overall made me lighter in a romantic sense. So we meet Mrs Hermit, and no she's not a muppet.....that's Kermit. Mrs Hermit has a quiet life and stays to herself, an introvert that reveals herself through a social media blog. She meets the hooker, he's a rugby player you know....not a prostitute...lol.
A hooker is a position on a rugby team that is sort of like a quarterback. I didn't know that when I asked for this book. I really thought it was about a hermit and a prostitute but I knew the guy was a rugby player. Guess I need to get out more. This book was lovely. The wit we get from the title just continues throughout the story and its a kind of wit I happen to like. The Hermit a.k.a. Annie works for a PR firm that is going to help the hookers image. I'd imagine being called a hooker, that they have there work cut out for them. The hooker a.k.a. Ronan takes a shine to Annie and the romance is so sweet. Amazing book and in my top ten this month. Overall entertainment was five stars.

**3/25 EDIT: Bumping this up .5 a star after re-reading. It was one of those "better the second time around" stories :)**
'We're going to be working together, so non-client dinners would be unprofessional.' I brought my mouth closer to hers and our breaths mingled as I said quietly, 'Let's be unprofessional together, Annie.'
Last month I mentioned how Collaborative Fiction is one of the trends for 2015 and The Hooker and The Hermit was one example of just one of the ones coming out that I was excited for. I think that is a common reaction when you add one LH Cosway with one Penny Reid. I am a huge fan of both authors and was eagerly anticipating what they could come created together. I have to say that I wasn't disappointed. The Hooker and The Hermit was funny, sexy, and really romantic.
'I don't want you, Ronan,' I whispered harshly, 'Not enough to change who I am.'
I really don't think you can ever go wrong with a dirty-talking bad boy of rugby with the looks of Collin Farrell and the Irish charm to boot. And with a name like Ronan, you can best expect your panties to be in peril at several points throughout the story. Ronan was a little cocky, very charming, and irresistible to someone like Annie, who lives her life behind a computer screen. Annie is a social disaster. Truly the self-proclaimed hermit, most of Annie's social interaction are the ones found online. Especially considering she is secretly behind one of the biggest celebrity blogs out there. As you can expect, Annie's plans of solitude and seclusion are blown to hell when she and Ronan find themselves in each others' lives.
'This is happening. You and I are happening, and this is real.'
The moments between Annie and Ronan are full of sexual tension that both Cosway and Reid are pros at writing. But the strength of The Hooker and The Hermit really lies in Annie and her whole story arc. She is such a recluse but you see her battling past her comfort zone and her vulnerability is endearing. I loved her backstory and the reasonings behind why she chooses to live her life the way she does. Overall, I really enjoyed this original story from two of my favorite authors. It wasn't my favorite from either but I would gladly read anything thew two pen together in the future, if it was an option!
4.5 stars!

I usually like Penny Reid’ book but his was simply not it. Not one thing I found likeable enough. The chapters were so bland, mindlessly and pathetically boring. Over- Sexualising men athlete is the brand of humour of this “shy”, “introverted”, “goody two shoes” heroine 💀
She was such a coward and a hypocrite. She’s been anonymously running a trashy media and a gossip page where she went all “horny FB mom” for a post about hero. Didn’t tell him the truth. Been chatting with the hero as that media personality on the side while she’s dating him. But when he told her that he knows she’s the person behind that blog, she gets pissed and started crying that hero tricked her and she trusted him blah blah???? Hello? WTF?? Pot calling kettle black? She’s so fcking stupid. Their whole romance was whack. I didn’t like it one bit 👎

Spoilers...
This book started off wonderfully! I loved the dynamic of Ronan and Annie as well as her alter-ego!
I really liked Annie as a character until...I didn't. She had all the right to be insecure and hesitant for human interaction. But, she had no right to keep playing with Ronan's feelings. She kept pushing and pulling him...
she must have serious arm muscles now...
BA-DUM-TSSSS
Yeah, bad joke...
I expected more from this book and it could be because of all the hits of Cosway's I had prior to this book. I then only surmised after that I wasn't a fan of the two books of Penny Reid that I read a while back. Of course, I won't push all the blame in her corner but I dunno, I expected more!
And Ronan's kink, I feel, came out of left field...I wasn't at all certain where it came from and it took away some of the pleasure of this book for me. I hate when characters have an attribute that was not properly developed but it IS a big part of them.
I did like one side character in particular and that is Lucy. She was a unique character and I just found out that she is the heroine of the second one...but why the HECK is Sean the hero....and I'm using that word in the LIGHTEST sense possible...
I didn't hate ALL of the book. As I said, the beginning was great and even the humour was great!
