Very interesting story that at first one might assume would be boring. Maybe it's because I had a prior knowledge of some of the events transcribed in the book? Maybe because I was familiar with a lot of the names thrown around so it was easier for me to keep track of everything? Who knows. I love Disney history and this is a great, extensive recounting of one of their highest points which would then turn back into one of their lowest. Great tale if you can stomach the board meeting and stock market talks.

I enjoyed the first half, especially all the drama between Eisner and Katzenberg, two ridiculously large egos, but after Katzenberg's departure, I found myself skipping through the rest of the book. It might have been better if it were shorter or more succinct.

This book has singlehandedly inspired me to read every single entertainment industry non-fiction book I can get my grubby little hands on

A remarkable piece of investigative journalism, told with a narrative authority and flow that many nonfiction authors could only dream of. Lots of corporate gossip and haggling here, which may not be of interest to some, but I found it very compelling. Great insight into the workings of the world's most preeminent media company from the '80s through the first half of the '00s.

Really fascinating account of a tumultuous time at Disney. I wish that the latter portion of the book hadn't been so entirely focused on the ABC and Fox Family acquisitions- if you read this book, I definitely recommend looking into the Disney Dish podcast for additional history surrounding the construction and initial troubles of California Adventure and EuroDisney/Disneyland Paris.

Incredibly engaging account of Michael Eisner's rise and fall at Disney. My only complaint is at the time it was published, Eisner's fate was undetermined so the ending feels unfinished. But we all know how it worked out.

Considering this was a 550 page book about greedy old white men doing classic greedy old white man shit, it managed to be distinctly not boring and not confusing.
