This book was interesting to me when the focus was on creative choices that involved actual creators and executives. There is a little thrill at hearing the backstories behind many classic (or some less-than-classic) films and TV shows. It can get dry even as the intrigue between executives looms large (I just cannot bring myself to care much for egotistical millionaires. Their problems mostly seem well-deserved). If anything, the book makes a great case for why most executives are exorbitantly overpaid for their "talents."

This was really a fascinating book and I'd love a sequel about Disney post Eisner. The many things Disney had hits with and the many things they foolishly passed on were amazing to find out about. One of the more interesting business books I've ever read.

juicy! nearly every single plot point in 'succession' is pulled from the pages of this book. utterly fascinating history of the rise and fall of michael eisner.
