As a binational; French and English, reading this novel set in France following an Irish man and a French woman was beautiful. The fact the text was first published as a standalone under the title: Misogynie in French is also beautiful. Short and quick but full of depth.
With few words, Claire Keegan opens a conversation on Misogyny.

Absolutely loved the beautiful writing and gorgeous narration (audiobook). I much preferred this to Small Things Like These. Really moving writing that built a sense of doom from the start.

there is just something about the beautiful mundane details in claire keegan’s writing. this was such an interesting perspective on learnt misogyny and inherited behaviours.  i just love being able to read a story in one sitting.

Interesting short story, I enjoyed the slow reveal as you learned more about what was going on with him and how he’d been in his relationship. You could really picture the feeling of being the main character sat in the house.
