This book was witty and thoughtful. Being a Grey’s Anatomy fan certainly helped me enjoy it more since I was able to understand the references throughout. My rating would have been higher if not for the fatphobic chapter, which felt out of left field.

Elements were entertaining and enjoyable. It's well-written.

However, the way she talked about being fat and losing weight were incredibly triggering as someone in recovery from ED. I almost stopped reading. It was framed as "I'm all for body positivity, this is just my experience," but the things she was saying about her body were clearly fatphobic societal messages that weren't purely from her own brain. And repeating them over and over was genuinely painful to read.

I could have done without the fat phobia but otherwise it was a decent read/listen. Skipped most of chapter 8.

Sometimes, I hear the voice of my dietitian in my brain and today I could hear her saying, stop reading this eating disorder nonsense. So I've decided upon the advice of my dietitian who lives in my head to put down this book. I cannot believe this has such a high rating and very few reviews mentions of the virulent fatphobia here. I would warn you off this book if you have an ED because of this one chapter.

What's really disappointing is I was actually liking the conversational tone of the first half and expected to close this out as a four star, easy-breezy celebrity self-help book. I feel that if this author had focused on the health effects and how she felt, I could have worked around this. All of us want to be healthy. But it was the description of her body and the clear hatred she had for the fat body that made me too annoyed to keep going with this.

A genuinely laugh out loud book. I *liked* Shonda Rhimes before this book, and now I'm a tiny bit obsessed. Loved it - from the anecdotes to actually good life advice/
