I enjoyed listening to this book particularly because it was read by Shonda Rhimes. If you're not a fan of Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Scandal or How to Get Away, I don't think all of the book will make sense. This book is for her "tribe" . . . Hence my ratings. Everyone just won't get it. But, I do. ;)
It was fun. It made me uncomfortable. It made me cheer. I really loved the perspective on normalizing v. "showcasing diversity" and her constant reference to "do not judge me". ;)
I have ONE challenge with this text, and it is the one place she said we could judge her. I definitely don't judge but keep dreaming. I'm not ready to give up that pantry dream. (You're not the only one with childhood stories, Ms. Rhimes). ;)
I still love weddings; and for the girls who CHOOSE weddings and babies and carpool lines and homemade brownies, I'm happy there's hope and room in the normalized world for all.
Thank you for sharing your Year of Yes!

Tv writer decides to accept invitations for speaking events after her sister says she never does anything. Short book written very casual. Not relatable.

Not my style of writing, but she sure had some great advice! I tagged so many pages.
