I had high hopes for this one. I can look past the “insta love” since that’s basically a staple in most YA books, but it was so repetitive! The big twist I figured out in the first couple chapters. The characters didn’t have any real depth.

This took me so long to get through because everytime I would go to read it I would ask myself “do I really want to read more of Nora’s repetitive thoughts, knowing how this is basically going to end?” And it just became a slog.

I really loved her writing though and I loved the little blurbs about her ancestors.

I wanted to like this more than I did, unfortunately. The vibe was there, but the story didn't have enough depth to sustain a full-length novel. Check out my full review at Forever Young Adult.

I finished this book in approximately 12 hours. Enough said? What beautiful writing and a true page turner. Why can’t good books last forever?
I love the movie Practical Magic and I totally felt those vibes in this book.

Plot was very slow and uneventful.

I was pretty disappointed by this book. It was predictable and repetitive. I was hooked in the first 50 pages or so, but then it just got redundant and I had to force myself to finish it.
