So after reading the reviews for this book, I wasn't quite sure if I was going to like this book or not, but I was very pleasantly surprised.
Let's just first say that you can tell that this is a debut novel. The pacing was a bit off, and it was written in a first person narrative. (I, I, I, I...which can get a bit tiresome after a while). However, I really enjoyed this psychological suspense novel. The main character, author Linda Conrads, is so well-developed that she seems...tangible, and pulls the reader into her cramped, shut-in lifestyle so well, that the reader can start to feel the sense of claustrophobic atmosphere, in addition to her fears, her despair, and her guilt.
Although the plot stalls a bit here and there, overall I was impressed with this debut novel. The psychological spin really made it interesting for me, and kept the pages turning.
I look forward to reading another book from these authors. (So long as they are translated from German as this novel was.)

Good twist and a very unique situation of the main character.
Loved the concept and the twists, but for some reason it just didn’t grip me. I had no trouble putting it down to do other things, even as I was getting to the climax. Maybe the translation took away from it, but the writing itself didn’t really do it for me fully.
I LOVED this book! It’s so artfully crafted, I was petrified and fully immersed in the characters the entire time. Melanie Raabe has such a knack for this unique style of toying with reality and perceived reality from the main characters perspective. Totally recommend!
Agoraphobia is a terrifying psychological illness. The character who is a great writer maintains that she recognizes her sister's murderer. While I was reading, I continuously asked myself "Is she nuts? Did she make up this entire scenario? Did she do it?" This novel is more along the lines of other flawed heroines who place themselves in grave danger. If you enjoy those genres, you will enjoy this book.

Quick read, but one that was truly captivating. I liked the thrill of discovering who the murderer was of Linda’s sister, Anna. I feel like inside Linda’s house, I was able to discover a whole new world. The author leads us through plenty of twists and turns that keep us reading and wanting to discover what happens, and I loved it. The ending was great as well !
I read it - didn’t love it but I was interested enough to finish it.
