Loving this slow burn series so much, the cases are interesting and predictable but with twists

This series is so good. It's a gay Criminal Minds but it's so much more than that characters wise.
The basic premise of this story is that the lover of the rich family's daughter has been murdered and the rich folk are the suspects. I mean, rich people drama us such a guilty pleasure of mine. I did however guess who the murderer was 30% into the book, I still really loved where the story went and the showdown of will they/won't they catch the suspect in time.
What I love about this series is the characters and the development that they go through along with dealing with real-life issues that everyday people face. For example, one of the male leads, who is Korean, talks about how his height (6ft 3) is seen as 'ugly' and 'undesirable' in his culture and how he goes into the background of situations dealing with people because he is self-conscious by that. You also the other main character dealing with guilt stemming from what happened in the last book resulting in him having to go to the therapist to talk about it. Throw in the angsty sexual tensions between these two and it makes for a really reliable yet dramatic story(I hope that makes sense).
There is also a diverse set of characters in the series:
- Korean representation
-Gay representation
- Lesbian representation
- Non-Binary representation ( which is just such a precious bean!)
What I also love with this series is that there is no shame about being who they are. For example, Malcome has a one-night stand in this book and is not ashamed by it at all. There is no coming to terms with their sexuality it is just who they are (not that I do not enjoy those stories but sometimes it is just nice to take a different stance on a story)
All in all, I would recommend this series to any who just loves Criminal minds with two detectives who may or may not want each other in more than a professional stance.
