I enjoyed this book, even though not as much as I expected. The beginning was slow, but the last half of the book was so tense and creepy.
Sadly, couldn't rate this 4 stars because the plot twist was too predictable from the first 1/3 of the book, kinda disappointed tho.
The plot pace for the rest of the book (except the beginning) was fine, but the execution felt kinda rushed and insta-love story at the ending was unnecessary in my opinion lol.

HOT DAMN. The review I left for the previous Swanson book I read [b:The Kind Worth Killing|21936809|The Kind Worth Killing|Peter Swanson|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1417981750s/21936809.jpg|41240456] can be left right here for this one too. Swanson is quickly becoming one of my favorite 'psychological thriller' writers.
His books are dark and twisty but without the gore (or very little) and all the sneaky creepy: when it's all too real and believable that this-could-happen-to-you-YIKES.
Revolutionary? No. Predictable at times? Yes. But who cares! It’s a fast-paced, jaw-clenching, heart-pounding, page-turning drama, served just the way I like it.
It’s going to take extreme restraint not to plow through Swanson's other books this weekend.
If you like thrillers that sort out the who ‘killer’ is (and 'why') without detectives or wannabe detectives working it like a job (meaning the story naturally unfolds before you instead) this is a great book choice.
And if you like thrillers with fully developed characters (including learning their backstory and trudging around in their head a bit with a God-like-narration) this is a great selection to consider.
