This is a good biography, However I would love to see Jennifer's perspective later in life and how she views her childhood now. I do have some criticisms of the book though.
Her writing could be better. For example she tells us stuff when writing about a certain event that could be built up and told later on in the memoir. For example she will be examining her childhood and then write something about the future of her life that doesn't fit in that moment.
Another critique I have is the way she talks about women. Although she learned to slut shame women from her dad and mom at a young age it doesn't excuse her to still talk that way at the end of the book. I understand her writing in this way when writing in her childhood and teenager voice/perspective. However the fact at the end of the book she is in her thirties and still thinking this way makes one questions if she condones it. She condemns the way her father taught her to view women's bodies and sexual behavior however we don't see her actively trying to change her language and view in this book.

Overall it felt as if it was a story that Jennifer needed to get out there but should have gone over and rewritten in places. However the fact she didn't do this creates an extremely personal read. Jennifer also doesn't make herself out to be the greatest person and shows her flaws wholeheartedly in this biography which adds to the personal truthful nature of the biography.
Overall I feel as if this book certainly has flaws but the meaning behind it still shines through and is worth the read.

This book is an absolute trip. I think it is very well written for a "celebrity memoir." I enjoyed the writing cadence that included clothing types or songs on the radio, though I doubt each detail is real. The first 3/4 of the book was a wild, wild ride but I feel like the last 1/4 petered out. Definitely worth a read, It's different than other Playboy memoirs because the author was not a Playmate or girlfriend, but someone who grew up in and around the mansion.
Glad I got this one from the library because I'm not sure I can make it to the end. It's kind of fun to see what was happening at the Playboy Mansion in the 80s, but the writing is so bad ...
UPDATE: I finished it, because it was only about 200 pages and I just skimmed. The writing did not improve.

If you like self-indulgent, self-pitying memoirs by people who never really outgrow their past mistakes, this is the book for you! Don't get me wrong - it's a hell of a peek into the world of Playboy in the 70s and 80s. But it's all pretty seedy and gross. Plus the absolute negligence of the author's parents is sickening.

consumed this within a day—the ups and downs of a rich little socialite who grew up in the playboy mansion. intrigue and drama galore.
unfortunately, i think this memoir suffers in terms of its pacing and immature retrospection. i don't mind the writing cadence, but some sections of her life were hardly mentioned, only skimmed (like 4-year college experience being summed up in a couple paragraphs).
i liked it overall, but feel like it would have benefited from some more self-analysis and connection of events, rather than flying through day by day.

This is a name-dropping, drug-fueled, bad-playlisted monstrosity. I loved it. Couldn’t put it down. If you’re dumb and like dumb books, this is exactly what you need right now

I think the author has such an interesting story to tell and a co-writer could have really helped flesh out her story. I also really wanted to see more growth at the end of the book. She goes to college but we don’t see her branch out any other ways and at the end of the book she’s still at a mansion party perceiving other women as sluts.
