This series is just what I needed after watching the Series of Unfortunate Events season 2. I really wanted more Snicket style books and then found out these existed! I'm having a fab time listening to them and the narrator is brilliant.

I like these better, I think, than the Series Of Unfortunate Events series. It's hard to compare though since I read those AGES ago. I never made it to The End of that series but there are hints that this series has references from those last few books. I'm going to go back and read the last three books to see if that makes any difference. Difference in what you ask? I have no idea. That must be one of all the wrong questions...

I love the conceit of this series as a chronicle of Lemony Snicket's early days with "the organization" and the wrong questions that he asked. As with Snicket's earlier series, A Series of Unfortunate Events, I suspect that many of the mysteries of this book will remain unanswered even at the end of the series, but I think that's part of Snicket's appeal.
