I enjoyed the narrative style of the book and seeing characters develop, though some were somewhat stereotypical. The pace could have been a little faster, certainly.

A non-spoiler content warning for animal death - one of the characters is a pig farmer and there is graphic detail about deceased piglets and animal husbandry.

the twist ending was indeed a twist, but felt unnecessary in many ways. Note that this contains incest. </Spoiler>

Une saga familiale qui tire un peu sur le soap. Quand même plaisant à lire, avec une atmosphère très sentie d'hiver sombre en Norvège. Par contre, le personnage d'homme gay était ultra stéréotypé et ça m'a vraiment dérangé. Et la fin était très abrupte, tout déboule beaucoup trop vite dans les 10 dernières pages (genre révélations chocs) et ça manque de "closure". J'imagine que c'est pour nous pousser à lire la suite. Mais malgré tous ses défauts, je me le suis quand même clanché en deux jours.. À voir si je continue la série, j'hésite un peu.
