I loved learning about the lives of different women. The book had great vibes but not much else. However, overall I liked the unusual structure/style.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!
After Sappho is a book about queerness, feminism, and womanhood explored through the eyes of fictionalized versions of historical female visionaries.
For my first ever ARC, this isn't bad at all. I loved the focus on queer female writers and artists, especially historical ones. Queer women are so often erased from history so it is incredibly refreshing to see a narrative that embraces them completely. It's worth mentioning the way this book explores Sappho herself as less of a person and more of an achievable idea of artistic queer womanhood that someone could potentially become. It's a very interesting take on her, especially within the context of the book. Even though I think the issues with the pacing (dragging at some points and then being way too fast at others) could have helped flesh out this concept further, overall I appreciate it. Anyways, I'll definitely continue to read ARCs and use Netgalley after this

Book auto returned on Libby. It’s a very cool book but I think a physical copy would be a better way to read it than an Ebook.

I purposely left this without a star rating because I clearly came into this book thinking it was gonna be a general gay fiction, maybe set in Greece or something. But I clearly should have read the synopsis or even just the tags to realise that’s not what it was.
The narrator has a lovely voice, however I think this kind of book would need to be read physically.
I do not even know what the book was about even now. Maybe a bunch of historical stuff but I’m not sure if it’s fiction or non fiction? Anyway. I’ve learnt my lesson now.
