Pretty well done. The problem was that I did not expect it to be about the science of our world.
It was half discworld, half actual science. Both parts were pretty good. But, I wanted discworld, not our world.

I love Terry Pratchett books, everything he has written is amazing. Some one thelse science went over my head. I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I had understood everything. But over all they did a very good job making science that was way over my head make at least a bit of sense. Even when I didn't understand something I didn't feel lost, or like I was missing part of the story. I don't really like when multiple people write a book, and I think I would have liked it better if just Terry Pratchett wrote it. But the other authors were very good and I liked them.

A fun read. The science is a bit dated and there are some factual errors (e.g., 18-O is not radioactive).

The Roundworld pop-sci interludes grew wearisome toward the middle, but they rallied for a strong finish. The Discworld bits were lovely.

Five stars for the Discworld bits, but only four stars for the science bits. Why's that?
Someone without a science background, or who hasn't read much in the way of popular science, would get MUCH more out of the "real world" parts. Consider this a strong recommendation for that audience. They cover a lot of ground and also took the time to update parts several years after initial publication. On top of that, I hadn't heard of axions before, so I learned something!

Mixed feelings about this one, which is why it took me so long to finish. On the one hand, the story part, featuring the wizards of Discworld studying a bizarre "round" world was quite entertaining. On the other hand, the alternating science-background chapters often lost my interest quickly. There were good ones, and good bits in less-good ones, and ones that just didn't interest me much at all, or were based on outdated science, or... * shrugs * It's the first time I've been glad to be done with one of Sir Terry's books.
Recommended for the story, but not at full price.
So if the next book in the sequence goes on deal, I'll grab it, but I have zero interest in it at full price.
