Compelling. This kept me hooked - not just to see what happened next in their lives, but to understand the characters both as individuals and a couple. Really well-written.

This book impressively covers decades, following a relationship from multiple angles. Though a bit slow at times, the book was both full of  smart reflection on relationships and growth and full of twists and turns.

HIGHLY TRIGGERING BOOK!! The author should have been much more clear regarding content warnings, because not even 10% into the book there are several extremely triggering events. I will not be continuing this book, and would have much preferred to have known ahead of time what I might encounter. It should be required to list content warnings for books such as this one.
