Okay so I was told this book was the worst in the series so far, but I was pleasantly surprised! Sure, the war politics and whatever was a little hard to follow at times but it’s all so well written you kind of forget about it lol.

Currently throwing a fit over the fact that just when things seem to be okay within Xaden and Violet’s relationship SOMETHING always has to go wrong, like that damn ending cause holy shit???

This book had me going through it like constantly lmao but I’m still super excited to read the next book.

I honestly loved this book! Part 1 and 2 definitely felt like different vibes but no matter what, it had my heart rate up the entire time. I read the whole thing in 2 days, I couldn’t put it down!

Xaden and Violets constant fighting was a little annoying but I also understood and it helped with the story. A lot of people did not like Cats storyline but honestly I liked it. Added a bit of drama

Very well written and takes you on an emotional roller coaster. Hard to pick up sometimes as the chapters are jam-packed with content so reading moves slow. Almost need to take notes to fully follow along. If this was more mystery and less fantasy it would be a 5 for me. A little all over the place like the writer is stretching the story too far at times. Main characters are insanely powerful and yet have normal human weakness at the same time.

girl what the fuck!:!,!:!,!.!.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS.

i understand why ppl would have hated this book but it was so important for the world building!!! i love a little slice of life LMAO

violet was basically tortured by varrish to get info out of her about the marked ones. and then sent half the riders quadrant to war??,?,!,! they all went to aretia and work with gryphon fliers and she finds out that xaden was previously engaged to cat who is second in line for the throne? btw brennan is alive and mira finds out and then their mother ... also what do you mean jack barlowe is not only alive but turned into venin. and that xaden traded death and became venin at the hands of the sage?:!,?:!!!?? AND FAMILY REUNION EXCEPT LILITH SORRENGAIL DIED? im sorry theres so much that happened in this book im overwhelmed but i am so sat for onyx storm!!!!!! im probably going to reread this book after this review

also sawyer :( sloane :( and aaric <3 i miss u liam :(

almost DNFed this 3 times. i think this reads like fanfiction — two dimensional plot lines, throwaway characters, catty immature fighting, entertaining romance. and yet i might get the third book from the library/libby when it drops

What an emotional rollercoaster

Great sequel to Fourth Wing. It had a much darker tone than the first book. The characters suffered emotionally, physically, and mentally. However, it just added to the sense of desperation the characters felt, and the anticipation to see what would happen as a reader. Just like the first book, the ending battle scene was gut wrenching but so good, I couldn’t put the book down. So many twists I didn’t see. But the end… so ready for Onyx Storm.
