A fascinating read about two groups of shipwreck survivors, although most of the book focuses on the survivors of the wreck of the Grafton (probably because they were shipwrecked longer!) The ingenuity demonstrated by the survivors was impressive.

A quick read, I found this book captivating. Primarily the story of five sailors shipwrecked on a desolate island south of New Zealand, it reads like a real life Swiss Family Robinson.

An impressively researched tale of two shipwrecks on the Auckland Islands in 1864. These two contrasting stories show how luck, skill, leadership, and camaraderie play into chances of survival.

Interesting, especially because the primary sources came from two differing accounts of a common sailor and captain. Not a bad read, a little quick and lacked some of the intensity of other shipwreck/maritime true stories I've read. Would recommend, but not highly. There are better options in this genre.
