So turns out I still love dragons.
And now they've got something to fight against and they are raising the stakes and while it might not be as exciting and fast paced as the first book I was fully hooked.
It doesn't fall into the normal traps of a lovey dovey relationship which I really appreciate it. They're love is a bit intense for me to be fully on board but at least it makes sense within this world. 
And love the dragons. They're personalities and actions feel like how dragons should be. Majestic, magical, mythical, mind-bendingly incredible. 
I'm a sucker and can't wait to read the next bits.
