I really wanted to like this book. The concept was great, the execution not so much in my opinion. It was a decent read but there were things that I really didn't like about it and at one point was going to rate it 3.5 stars instead. First of all Dallas' obsession with getting pregnant was odd - even when it was explained why she was obsessed - to the point that when Romeo came in her mouth she saved some under her tongue to use to get herself pregnant but then didn't use it because she suddenly remembered she had morals. Secondly, Romeo wanted revenge but didn't really do anything about it. The middle of the book was so slow paced it really made me want to dnf it. And we didn't really leave the house much apart from in the last 20% of the book.
This makes me sound like I hated it but there were some good vibes to it that were enjoyable.

The characters were so unrealistic and immature. The sexy scenes were not sexy. I HATED the excess spending.

Okay this book was funny but there was so much drama in the second half of the book and so much trauma in Romeo’s past to unpack like all in the last 50ish pages??? Eh i enjoyed it, it was a mindless read and the side characters were funny but Romeo needs some therapy

description

I'm DNFing this after reading half of the book. It wasn't bad, it was just not good enough.
A good thing that came out of this tho, were some beautiful phrases that I enjoyed reading:

"I would let him ruin me as thoroughly and impressively as Elon Musk destroyed Twitter." (chefskiss)

"Romeo seemed very fond of treating everyone around him like they had the depth of a Sims character."

And this beautiful passage that could've been out of a Holly Black book:

"My one and only wish is for you to die in my arms, Romeo Costa. I want to see you when you draw your last breath. To feel your skin turn cold and lifeless beneath my fingers. My wish is to witness your nostrils struggle to move as you consume oxygen for the last time."

That's all. See ya.
