A well-written biography, but at the same time, I don't feel like I know anything new about its subject.

I listen to this in the car. It’s a little long, but Anna has had a very long career so it makes sense. I thought it was a really interesting listen about a massively successful woman.

Anna Wintour is someone I admire for her work ethic, decisiveness and style. Objectively this book was well-written, unbiased and provided a timeline of Anna's life. Personally, I had been hoping for a book a little like the one Grace Coddington wrote. I know this is a biography and not a memoir although I was hoping for once-in-a-lifetime stories told from Anna's perspective.

As the author says Anna has become an icon. There are experiences and interesting events that could have only happened in Anna's life. It would have been fascinating to learn about some of them. I had been hoping for some nostalgia, the kind that people only chuckle about in hindsight. The book was easy to complete and informative but it was not exciting. If you're looking for a adventurous trip into the fashion world this is not the book for you. Anna: The Biography felt like an abbreviated version of a Walter Isaacson book.

A compelling look into the life of Anna Wintour studying what she gets right and wrong within the halls of Condé Nast. Amy Odell compartmentalizes the information that took her years to collect well and makes the book move quickly even when it includes paragraphs of budget and fundraising numbers.

As a lover of fashion and magazines, Anna Wintour has always been of interest to me but an enigma. I was so excited to read this to learn more about her and how she became one of the most iconic people in fashion (being a nepo baby can help). I thought Amy Odell did a great job with this book, it was very detailed and thoroughly researched. It was interesting to hear about the life of Anna and the real woman behind the bob and sunglasses. The only issue I had was sometimes the timelines switched between a few years at a time and that was hard to keep track of.

As someone who didn’t know a ton about Anna Wintour beyond the Devil Wears Prada caricature, this was really interesting - but for anyone who already knows a lot about her career, I’m not sure it would provide much insight. There’s very little about her personal life, and her personality seems to have mixed reviews! Good audiobook.
