it was a pleasant audiobook but the premise was more interesting than the story execution. I might read Hamnet now I get the O'Farrell vibe tho
Slow build, slow burn. Thank God it was a wishful historical twist. Sometimes I just can't take what actually happened to these poor women.
I could not put this one down! I wanted a little more in the ending, so if there was 4.5 stars, I’d take off a half for “more details, please!” Loved this change of pace and I always adore a spunky, firey female lead.

Slow to start and took me awhile to get into it, but then I enjoyed it.

Maggie O’Farrel writes beautifully descriptive, but it was way too descriptive for me. I was invested in the first and last 100 pages. I had to drag myself trough the middle, it took a second try at this book but I kept reading because I was intrigued enough by the possible ending. But I found the ending a bit disappointing? I did love Lucrezia’s character (development).
