Really handy read for soothing a baby & getting to the holy grail of parenting -- good sleep!
I enjoyed the style and step-by-step nature of this book. Perfect for a spacey pregnancy brain.

Could have been an excellent 17-minute read on Medium. Good concepts though
Seems like great advice. I'll be testing it out on the real baby in a few months.
While I like the premise of the book and am certainly willing to subscribe to this notion of the "fourth trimester" as a way of calming a "colicky" baby, the book was FAR too repetitive while making its main points. It could have been half the length and still communicated everything it needed to. A frustrating read. However, I will keep in mind the "5 S's" as a set of calming tools for when baby arrives.

Although it's extremely repetitive and doesn't need to be nearly as long, still giving 5 stars because of the sheer value of learning and using 5 S's.
Very useful information that can be condensed into a pamphlet.
Ugh. Hated this book. The author was so amazed with himself and clearly thought it was cute that he decided women go through a "fourth trimester", because he wouldn't shut up about it. Also, he said that he "teased" information out of ancient wisdom, etc, which was annoying. If our baby ends up being fussy all the time, maybe I'll pick it up again, but otherwise I'd rather skip listening to Karp singing his own praises again.
