I typically am not one to leave reviews but I felt compelled to leave one for Phantom. I picked this book up at B&N after reading the back and getting intrigued. I had no idea it was connected to the Haunting Adeline books (I have not read them). Phantom worked great as a standalone and Gigi was a refreshing FMC. This was a fun and easy read and I enjoyed the mobster vibes. Gigi and Ronaldo’s love story was fun and sexy. Definitely had a good time reading this one, and to be honest if I knew it was related to the Haunting Adeline books I may not have read it!

I was really excited to read this and I enjoy it, but it fell short. I was expecting to get more on the events leading up to her end and what happened with John and frank, but we just got the beginning of their relationship. I felt like the whole point of this book was to give more info on how it all went down and it definitely fell short. It was still a fun and easy read though.

Loved hearing Gigis story. I found the ending off as it didn’t go into detail of her ending. I guess in my option, I was looking for closure for her character.

It was really interesting to read GiGi’s pov and how her journals were apart of her so much. Getting to see how she fell in love with Ronaldo was so sweet. And the spice was top notch in true H.D. Carlton fashion. Ronaldo poured his heart into Genevieve and she gave it right back to him.  To read what John did to her was heartbreaking though. There was a moment when I thought I would have to take a break bc of the scene but I was able to continue just to understand what was going on.  Genevieve and Ronaldo’s love story was absolutely beautiful. I just wished it would have continued more to into what happened after Seraphina turned 18. Definitely a book to watch for trigger warnings because there are a few that are rough. But definitely going to be a favorite on my list!!!

The plot / love story was a 3-4.
The spice was 5.
The story wasn't bad. It was sweet. Over the top sometimes gangster story and my mood was only partially invested, so that's on me. It's interesting I was expecting it to end in the murder part of her story but it stayed true to just the romance portion and world building. Honestly enjoyable light read if you don't get bogged down by the situation details lol.
